Joe Maddon cleared air with Alex Rodriguez over Darvish comment
Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon has apparently settled things with Alex Rodriguez over what he felt was unfair criticism of one of his players.
During an ESPN Sunday Night Baseball telecast in July, Rodriguez hinted as clubhouse dissent toward Yu Darvish and questioned whether the pitcher was fully committed to the cause. That went down poorly with both Darvish’s agent and Maddon himself, who responded angrily.
On Sunday, with ESPN in town for another Sunday night game, Maddon and Rodriguez met privately to clear the air, and as far as the Cubs manager is concerned, the issue is settled.
Maddon and AROD had a candid conversation. Maddon said it was good. Time to move on.

Darvish took the whole thing in stride, and that appears to be that. A-Rod might be a bit more careful about saying things like this going forward.
