Joey Votto has hilarious quote on what he’ll do if players strike
The state of MLB free agency is such that there has been increasing talk of a potential strike when the CBA comes up for negotiation, but one player seems relaxed about the whole thing.
Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto already knows what he’ll do if the players go on strike, and it’s hilarious.
Votto, when asked about Adam Wainwright's strike comments, if there is a strike, "I'll just go backpacking through Europe and find myself"

Votto was reacting to comments made by Adam Wainwright of the St. Louis Cardinals, who predicted that players would walk out if owners didn’t show more of a willingness to pay them. And to be clear, Votto is supportive of free agents Bryce Harper and Manny Machado, both of whom have yet to sign as they seek a contract they feel is fair to them.

Votto nabbed a 10-year, $225 million deal before the bubble burst on big, lengthy deals. All he can really do is sympathize with peers whose contract negotiations came up too late to get in on the big money that was handed out in the early part of the decade that has largely dried up now.
