Houston Astros rookie Jonathan Villar steals home (Video)
The Houston Astros have the worst record in baseball and have not given their fans much to cheer about in recent years. Rookie shortstop Jonathan Villar provided a rare moment of excitement during a 4-3 loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday.
Villar got a great jump off Baltimore pitcher Wei-Yin Chen in the third inning and managed to steal home plate to give the Astros a 3-0 lead. Naturally, they blew that lead. However, it’s not often that we get to see a player steal home in the major leagues.
Villar has only appeared in eight games for Houston this season, but stealing home is enough to make you an instant fan favorite on a team that is toting a 35-70 record. And if Villar’s theft didn’t make you think of the clip below, you seriously need to reevaluate your priorities.
