Jonny Gomes only played 12 games for the Kansas City Royals this season and was not on the postseason roster, but that did not stop him from being one of the biggest pieces of their wonderful team chemistry. And at the team’s parade on Tuesday, his enthusiasm for the team was on full display.
Gomes gave an outstanding speech in front of the Kansas City fans in which he paced back and forth, riling up the fans as if he were Braveheart. He then capped it with an outstanding mic drop at the end.

That’s an awful lot of “we” talk for a guy who only had five hits and knocked in four runs for the Royals, but I don’t think anyone minds. Gomes has long been lauded as an excellent clubhouse guy for the chemistry he brings to a team, and it’s easy to see why. Now we’re just wondering whether he’ll wear that awesome American flag blazer to the White House like he did last time.
