Jose Altuve ejected for pulling savage move on umpire
Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve is truly the type to go the extra mile in order to prove a point.
Altuve was at the plate in a big spot Tuesday against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park in San Diego, Calif.
With the score tied 3-3 in the top of the 9th, the former AL MVP had a chance to drive in a go-ahead run with Jeremy Pena on second base.
Altuve fouled off a 1-1 pitch off his foot. However, the umpires didn’t see it and deemed the ball fair, resulting in the final out of the inning. Frustrated, the Astros star took off his shoe and sock to point out where the foul ball had hit him.

A barefoot Altuve sighting probably wasn’t on any spectators’ bingo cards. The veteran infielder was ejected from the contest but likely raised his already sky-high approval rating among Astros fans.
Call him “Shoeless” Joe Altuve from now on.
