Report: Josh Donaldson experiencing more calf soreness
It looked like the Toronto Blue Jays would have an opportunity to trade Josh Donaldson before Friday’s waiver trade deadline, but a setback in his rehab process could scuttle that.
According to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet, Donaldson is experiencing more soreness in his troublesome calf, and will be held out of Wednesday’s rehab game as a result.

The news couldn’t come at much worse a time from Toronto’s perspective. They have a little more than 48 hours to move Donaldson, and they had some interested parties. It was all reliant on Donaldson looking steady in his rehab assignment and coming through it without issue, but that hasn’t happened, throwing any move into serious doubt this late in the game.
