Justin Verlander supports Dexter Fowler’s flamboyant celebration
Count Justin Verlander as being part of the “Make Baseball Fun Again” crowd.
After Dexter Fowler hit a leadoff home run to start Game 7 of the World Series on Wednesday night, the Cubs outfielder was as pumped as you could imagine. He even went backwards during part of his home run trot because he wanted to fire up his teammates in the dugout:

Some found the celebration to be overboard, but Verlander had no problem with it:
Bautista bat flip everyone gets pissed… Fowler almost does a cartwheel around first and that's fine. #havefun #itsagame #WorldSeries

In fact, the former Cy Young winner pointed out the hypocrisy in people getting mad over Jose Bautista’s epic bat flip during last year’s playoffs.
When a guy homers to leadoff one of the biggest games in baseball history, it’s hard to get mad at him for celebrating like he just hit a once in a lifetime home run, because that’s exactly what he did.
