Kate Upton wishes Justin Verlander happy birthday
Justin Verlander and Kate Upton are still going strong. Very strong.
The Detroit Tigers pitcher turned 33 on Saturday and received a nice happy birthday Instagram post from his girlfriend, who called him her “best friend.”
Verlander and Upton have been dating since 2012, so they’ve been together for quite some time. With them doing this well you have to wonder when they’re going to tie the knot. Apparently Verlander has tried to put a ring on it multiple times but Upton has resisted.
Even if she’s not ready to get married yet, she still seems to be quite in love with Verlander, which is a good sign.
Verlander is getting ready for his 11th full season in the big leagues. After a disappointing 2014, he turned things around last season with a 3.38 ERA in 20 starts. Even though his fastball velocity is down from his prime when he averaged over 95 mph, it picked up last season compared to the 2014 season when he was bothered by injury, indicating he still could be a good starter going forward.
