Kenley Jansen confident he will be fine by October despite struggles

Los Angeles Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen is in the middle of a career-worst season, but he still thinks he can right the ship before it is too late.

Addressing reporters on Sunday, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts admitted that Jansen is dealing with obvious frustration but added that the three-time All-Star is determined he will be fine by October, per Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY Sports.

Roberts’ comments come in the midst of Jansen having blown three saves in just the month of August alone to balloon his ERA to 3.83 on the year. As for the last two Octobers, Jansen was not great then either, blowing two saves in last year’s World Series against Boston and tacking on another blown save as well as a loss in the 2017 World Series against Houston as well.

The 31-year-old recently admitted that he is “sick and tired” of the Dodgers’ bullpen being criticized, but if he cannot get his act together soon, there is a chance he may not be their closer any more by the time this October comes.
