Kris Bryant could be nearing rehab assignment
The Chicago Cubs are hoping to get third baseman Kris Bryant back in the fold fairly soon.
According to team president Theo Epstein, Bryant had no issues with his batting practice session on Friday, and while the Cubs are still working on a plan going forward, a rehab assignment may be in his future.
Theo said Kris Bryant felt really good in his cage hitting session. A rehab assignment possible. They will formulate a plan going forward . Bryant has been on DL with a sore shoulder for two weeks .

Bryant hasn’t played since June 22 with a lingering shoulder problem. That issue had been bothering him for a long time, so don’t expect the Cubs to rush him.
