Kyle Schwarber errors cost Cubs in NLDS Game 3
Kyle Schwarber’s misplay in left field during Game 3 of the NLDS on Monday was costly for his Chicago Cubs.
The Cubs and Washington Nationals were in a scoreless battle in the top of the sixth inning when Daniel Murphy hit a fly ball to left field with two outs. Schwarber was unable to make the catch despite the ball hitting his glove. He then kicked the ball allowing Murphy to reach third.

The Cubs then pulled Jose Quintana and replaced him with Pedro Strop, who promptly allowed a two-out RBI double to Ryan Zimmerman to make it 1-0 Nationals.
The run never would have scored if Schwarber had made the simple inning-ending catch.
