Andre Ingram was a career developmental league player who finally got his NBA shot at age 32 after a decade in the minors. He was signed by the Lakers for the final two games of the regular season and scored 24 points on 47.1 percent shooting, leading to this awesome Wikipedia update.
Sports fans loved his story and immediately identified with his perseverance. And now Ingram is continuing his tour in LA.
Ingram is set to throw out the first pitch before Friday’s Dodgers game against the Diamondbacks in Los Angeles. The Dodgers are only 4-7 this season, so maybe Ingram can bring them some good luck.
After he performed fairly well and received recognition for his callup, it remains to be seen whether that was the career-breakthrough Ingram needed.
