Amongst the many knocks on Manny Ramirez are his lack of focus and his lack of effort on defense. I don’t think there’s a better example of these shortcomings than what Manny did in his Dodgers debut on Friday night against Arizona. It was the top of the third, and Randy Johnson led off the inning by flying out to Manny in left. To repeat, Randy Johnson was the first batter of the inning and had made an out.
