Marcus Stroman strongly approves of Mets’ Luis Rojas hire
The New York Mets’ decision to hire Luis Rojas as manager will come as a surprise to more casual baseball fans, but it’s certainly being hailed by those within the organization who know him well.
Pitcher Marcus Stroman, who spent the last two months of the season with the Mets, was particularly excited about the hire, praising Rojas as a good teacher who keeps the team on an even keel.
LUIS ROJAS! Love love love it. Loved being around him on the bench last year. Always teaching and full of knowledge. Super laid back and brings nothing but great vibes each and every day. Beyond even keel. Excited even more for the year! @Mets

Given Stroman’s thoughts on everyone involved in the Astros’ sign stealing scandal, he was probably glad to be rid of Carlos Beltran. He seems even happier that Rojas is the replacement.
Rojas, the son of longtime MLB manager Felipe Alou, has managerial experience in the Mets’ minor league system and the Dominican Winter League. He sounds like he could be a popular choice among the players, which would be hugely important.
