The Seattle Mariners have been climbing up the AL West standings in recent weeks, but on Tuesday, one of their relievers found himself falling … literally.

Mariners righty Ryan Cook had a mishap before a game against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park when he fell down the dugout stairs. The 30-year-old was in some pain as a result of the fall, per the Seattle Times’ Ryan Divish.

Fortunately however, Cook said shortly afterwards that he had gotten checked out by the training staff and would be fine.

The ex-All-Star Cook holds a 3.60 ERA with six strikeouts in six appearances for the Mariners so far this season. Cook was certainly fortunate here, both that he was OK and that his fall wasn’t caught on camera like this player’s was.
