Marlins troll Bryce Harper on Twitter after strikeout with Instagram reference

Bryce Harper

The Miami Marlins used the final game of the regular season as an opportunity to get in one last troll job.

The Marlins beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-3 to finish 57-105 on the year, while the Phillies finished 81-81. Bryce Harper went 2-for-5 in the game with a strikeout in the seventh.

Here’s the tweet they sent:

How we longed to see these things pic.twitter.com/a4ASuuEdeH

— Miami Marlins (@Marlins) September 29, 2019

The tweet seems innocent, right? Think again.

The “how we longed to see these things” was a reference to a March 23 Instagram post by Harper in which he said “How I longed to see these things; how I longed to see the Liberty Bell and party on the streets where Bobby Clarke, Nick “BD” Foles, and Chase Utley had partied!”

The Marlins continue to crush on Twitter with some truly funny stuff. Their social media team has racked up many more wins than the baseball club this season, that’s for sure.
