Marwin Gonzalez guns runner out at plate to keep Astros ahead
The Astros and Yankees are currently battling in Game One of the American League Championship Series.
In the fourth inning, Carlos Correa and Yuli Gurriel gave the Astros a 2-0 lead. In the following frame, however, the Yankees threatened to get right back into it.
With a man in scoring position, Aaron Judge drilled a sharp line drive to left field. Greg Bird charged toward home.
Houston leftfielder Marwin Gonzalez came up huge, though, and gunned Bird out at the plate.

Marwin Gonzalez throws out a runner at the plate from LF for the second game in a row, but Yanks are challenging. Big one here.

Marwin Gonzalez had a 4.1 fWAR this season. Cody Bellinger and Anthony Rizzo each had a 4.0. He might be baseball's most underrated player.

The throw kept Houston up by two runs, and in the bottom of the sixth, the score remains the same. The Astros are three innings from a 1-0 series lead.
