Matt Kemp showed over the weekend that he can deliver in dramatic moments. And his Los Angeles Dodgers teammates have given him a nickname that represents that.
Cody Bellinger said after Sunday’s 3-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks that the Dodgers call Kemp “Hollywood” because he “likes the big moments.”

Kemp certainly proved that in a major way. He hit a 3-run home run on Saturday to give the Dodgers a 3-2 win over Arizona. The hit was probably the biggest regular season hit for the team in the last 10 years. Then he doubled down on Sunday with another walk-off hit off Archie Bradley in another 3-2 in over the Diamondbacks. The team took 3 of 4 from Arizona to take a 1-game lead in the NL West, which emboldened the Dodgers’ Twitter account to troll Arizona.
Kemp is certainly living up to his nickname.
