Matt Kemp reportedly signs with Mets

Matt Kemp

Matt Kemp has once again found a new organization to try to break through with.

According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, Kemp has signed a minor-league deal with the injury-hit New York Mets.

Kemp was last seen with the Cincinnati Reds, where he was hitting just .200. The Mets will hope there’s something left in his bat, and just last year he hit .290 with 21 home runs for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The 34-year-old will be a depth play for the Mets, who have had a lot of outfield injuries this season. There’s almost no risk involved here. If he hits, he’ll stick, and if not, the Mets can move on without any commitments.
