Max Scherzer almost fell before ceremonial puck drop at Capitals game
Washington Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer has some time off before the start of the World Series, so he’s pumping up some of the other teams in the city. He just has to avoid falling down doing it.
Scherzer participated in a ceremonial puck drop ahead of Friday night’s Washington Capitals game. He scared everybody a little when he nearly fell as he made his way onto the ice to walk the red carpet to participate.
Max Scherzer just slipped stepping out onto the red carpet before dropping the puck. He did not fall, but that was close.

Scherzer made it unscathed and pulled a bit of a switch, dropping a ceremonial baseball instead.

It went off without a hitch, but some Nationals fans are just going to want to wrap Scherzer in bubble wrap and tell him not to do anything else ahead of the World Series. The guy pitched part of the season with a bad back, after all.
