Mets reportedly in talks with Adrian Gonzalez
The New York Mets appear to have some serious interest in free agent Adrian Gonzalez.
The veteran first baseman was traded by the Dodgers to the Braves last month. Atlanta quickly released him, making him available as a free agent.
The Mets were instantly reported to have interest in Gonzalez, and things may be heating up on that front.

Gonzalez, 35, only appeared in 71 games last season as he battled back injuries. He saw a major dropoff in production and batted just .242. The Mets have youngster Dominic Smith set to play at first, but he struggled last season and batted .198, so the Mets could be looking for another cheap option at the position.
