Michael Fulmer expected to be out 3-4 months after elbow surgery

Michael Fulmer

Michael Fulmer is set to undergo surgery on his elbow that will likely take him out 3-4 months.

MLB.com Tigers reporter Jason Beck says Fulmer will have the operation performed by Dr. James Andrews.

Fulmer has been out since having a rough outing on Aug. 29 and went on the disabled list with an elbow problem. He went to see Dr. Andrews Monday, who has recommended the surgery.

Fulmer, 24, was an All-Star this season after winning AL Rookie of the Year last year. He finishes the season 10-12 with a 3.83 ERA.
