Twins’ Miguel Sano unlikely to return from hamstring injury this week
Minnesota Twins third baseman Miguel Sano does not appear to be close to a return to the lineup.
Sano, who has not played since April 27 due to a hamstring strain, was “not close to 100 percent” when testing it out on Monday, according to manager Paul Molitor.
Miguel Sano “not close to 100 percent” when running, Molitor says. Sounds like no return before the weekend, at least.

Sano wasn’t performing that well even before his injury, hitting an underwhelming .213, though he did have five home runs. The good news is that the team has fared pretty well even without Sano in the lineup, picking up the pace to go 9-6 without him despite a slow start to the season. Still, he’s a key part of the lineup, and his return can’t come soon enough — it just looks unlikely to happen this week.
