Mike Minor reportedly has Yankees on no-trade list

As the New York Yankees seek rotation help ahead of the Jul. 31 trade deadline, one excellent option may already be out of the running.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reported on Monday that Texas Rangers pitcher Mike Minor has the Yankees on his ten-team no-trade list. Rosenthal adds that the rest of Minor’s list is not known and that it is unclear if he included the Yankees for leverage or because he does not want to play in New York.

The 31-year-old Minor, who holds an 8-5 record with a glowing 2.86 ERA this season, is one of the most coveted starters on the trade market this year. He is also a 2019 All-Star and a left-hander on a team that is probably going nowhere this season, making him particularly in demand.

A Minor trade is said to be “increasingly likely” with multiple other interested parties emerging specifically, but it appears that the Yankees themselves will have to look elsewhere for an upgrade.
