Mike Moustakas hurt his back lifting one of his kids
The Kansas City Royals already have one of the worst records in baseball, and now their injury fortunes may quickly be following suit.
Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas was scratched from the lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Cleveland Indians due to back spasms. After the game (a 6-4 Kansas City loss), manager Ned Yost revealed that Moustakas hurt his back lifting one of his kids, per Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com.
Ned said Moose felt his back tighten after lifting one of his children. Day to day

Moustakas, the two-time All-Star, has been one of the lone bright spots for the 25-50 Royals this season, leading the team with 16 home runs and 53 RBIs.
The good news here is that Moustakas is only day-to-day. The bad news is that this isn’t even the most ridiculous way that a Royal has hurt himself this year.
