MRI on Andrelton Simmons’ back is clean
The 1-6 Los Angeles Angels got some good news on Friday.
An MRI on Andrelton Simmons’ back came back clean and the shortstop is feeling well after receiving treatment, according to The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya.

Simmons left Thursday’s loss to the Texas Rangers due to tightness in his lower back.
In addition to playing stellar defense at shortstop, Simmons has been serving as the Angels’ cleanup hitter, which is as much of a commentary on the state of the team’s offense as it is about his improvement as a batter.
