Report: Multiple teams interested in Brian Dozier

The Minnesota Twins are fielding interest in Brian Dozier, with the second baseman coming off a career season.

Multiple teams asked about Dozier during the GM Meetings, according to FOX Sports’s Jon Morosi, though it is unclear how interested the Twins are in moving him.

The 29-year-old would be a good acquisition if anyone could get him. He hit 42 home runs in 2016, easily a career high and a rare asset for a second baseman. He’s also signed affordably through 2018, owed just $15 million over that two year span, which would constitute a bargain. Moreover, he doesn’t enjoy playing for a losing team like the Twins, whose immediate path to contention is somewhat unclear.
