The 29-year-old would be a good acquisition if anyone could get him. He hit 42 home runs in 2016, easily a career high and a rare asset for a second baseman. He’s also signed affordably through 2018, owed just $15 million over that two year span, which would constitute a bargain. Moreover, he doesn’t enjoy playing for a losing team like the Twins, whose immediate path to contention is somewhat unclear.
