Munetaka Murakami almost has to be seen to be believed at this point.
The Chicago White Sox slugger Murakami crushed a monster opposite-field home run during Tuesday’s game against the rival Chicago Cubs. In the third inning at Wrigley Field in Chicago, Ill., Murakami took Cubs pitcher Kevin Gausman deep on a 3-2 pitch that ended up clanking off the giant scoreboard in left field.

Murakami’s blast even caused some damage to the scoreboard. The local television broadcast aired an image of the scoreboard with a small dent in it from where Murakami’s home run had nailed it.

The 26-year-old Murakami, a lefty-hitting first baseman, has burst onto the scene during his first year in Major League Baseball. He entered play on Tuesday with 28 home runs and 57 RBIs through just 89 games (with an overall OPS of .911).
Murakami, who even made the MLB All-Star team this year, has already given the fans plenty of other incredible feats of strength. But doing (literal) damage to the scoreboard in the rival team’s ballpark might just be Murakami’s best work yet.
