Report: Nationals could be factor in Patrick Corbin sweepstakes
Two teams have been most prominently linked to free agent pitcher Patrick Corbin, but a third could reportedly throw a wrench in their plans.
It has been widely reportedly that the New York Yankees are interested in Corbin, and the Philadelphia Phillies are lurking as well. However, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, executives around the league believe the Washington Nationals are very interested in Corbin and could be a factor as well.
#Yankees have been favorites to land fr agt Patrick Corbin. #Phillies have been seen as biggest threat. But keep hearing from execs not to count out #Nationals, that they really like and want the LH.

The Nationals or the Phillies signing Corbin would be a big blow to the Yankees, who have wanted him for a very long time. What appears clear at this point is the fact that there’s going to be a very real competition for his services.
