Padres fans boo Dodgers, Giants, Yankees All-Stars

Petco Park

Just when you thought San Diego fans were not passionate about their sports teams, Padres fans in attendance for Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game proved otherwise.

The fans in attendance for the All-Star Game at Petco Park made their partisanship known when they booed the Dodgers and Giants All-Stars during player introductions.

Dodgers infielder Corey Seager was first to get booed and seemed taken aback. Clayton Kershaw knew the drill and played to the boos, while Kenley Jansen also figured it out.

This video shared by the few Dodgers fans in the park who actually cheered shows the audible boos:

Then a bit later came the Giants’ All-Stars, Brandon Belt and Madison Bumgarner. Both were booed and did not seem too enthusiastic about the hate. Buster Posey and Johnny Cueto were in the bullpen and got introduced later, receiving the same boos.

Even though they’re not in the NL West, the Yankees’ All-Stars also were booed. Carlos Beltran seemed to laugh at it, while Andrew Miller did not have much of a reaction.

Meanwhile, San Diego natives Cole Hamels and Stephen Strasburg got big cheers despite not being members of the Padres.

The Padres’ All-Stars of course had the best reaction of all, as they were cheered loudest by the home fans.
