Padres reportedly making Matt Kemp available via trade
The San Diego Padres continue to try to clean up the mess that was the 2014-15 offseason.
Though the trade deadline is still a little more than two months away, the Padres have reportedly made outfielder Matt Kemp available in a trade.
The #Padres may have nice trade chip this summer in OF Matt Kemp, who has 10 homers and 29 RBI, and is being made available.

San Diego is going nowhere fast and Kemp is owed another $73 million through 2019. They must be thrilled that Kemp has gotten off to a good start with 10 home runs in his first 39 games. They’ll still have to eat some money, in all likelihood, but his solid start power-wise has probably restored a bit of his lost trade value after an underwhelming 2015.
San Diego tried to move Kemp last winter, but between his injury history, less than stellar season, and the money owed to him, they didn’t find any takers. If Kemp keeps hitting, they’ll probably have better luck this time around.
