Padres rookie took funny shot at Dodgers after win
Eric Lauer may be a rookie, but he already knows how to win over a fanbase.
The San Diego Padres lefty stymied the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night, striking out eight batters over 8.2 innings of one-run ball to lead the team to the 4-1 victory. It was Lauer’s second career start against the Dodgers after a similarly dominant performance against them in May where he threw six shutout innings in a 3-0 Padres win.
After the game, Lauer was asked about his success against the Dodgers and got in a funny shot at them for good measure, per AJ Cassavell of MLB.com.
Eric Lauer has now dominated the Dodgers twice. "It's the Dodgers, man," he said. "Nobody likes the Dodgers."

The 23-year-old Lauer has been notably less successful against non-Dodgers teams this season — he holds a modest 5-5 record with a 4.40 ERA in 15 starts on the year as a whole. Regardless though, throwing shade at the boys in blue is a great way to gain clout, as another NL West rival can attest to.
