Look: Pete Alonso wears huge necklace from Daddy Yankee after winning HR Derby
Pete Alonso won the evening on Monday in more ways than one.
The New York Mets rookie put on a show at the Home Run Derby, clubbing 23 dingers in the final round to edge Blue Jays phenom Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
To celebrate the feat, Alonso pranced around afterwards wearing a huge medallion necklace that was gifted to him by rapper Daddy Yankee. Tim Healey of Newsday shared an image of the bling.

Daddy Yankee, who is famous for such hits as “Despacito” and “Gasolina,” was himself an aspiring pro baseball player before going into the music business, and it’s clear that he backed the right horse in Monday’s competition.
As for the necklace, that’s probably the nicest piece of jewelry that we have seen since last month’s NBA Draft.
