Manny Machado may have a new team by the time the All-Star break is over, and his new home could be in the NL East.
Multiple reporters said on Monday that the Philadelphia Phillies were close to acquiring Machado in a trade.
Multiple sources say #orioles don’t have deal done with #phillies for Machado. #dodgers and #brewers also still involved. Told “very close” but nothing has been agreed upon yet

MLB.com’s Jon Morosi says that the Phillies’ willingness to include pitching prospect Adonis Medina in a deal could help sway Baltimore to make the trade.
The Orioles seemingly leaking to reporters that a deal is close may be their way of telling teams in the hunt to step forward with their best offer. The trade rumors have been swirling for weeks, and all parties probably have to be tired of it by now and ready to move on. The belief is that Machado has played his last game with the Orioles.
The 26-year-old shortstop would represent a significant boost over JP Crawford and Scott Kingery, who have been handling shortstop for the Phillies this season.
