Report: Phillies maintain interest in Alex Colome
The Philadelphia Phillies are still hunting for bullpen help ahead of Wednesday’s trade deadline.
According to Jon Morosi of MLB.com, the Phillies are maintaining steady interest in Chicago White Sox closer Alex Colome, who they feel would bolster a bullpen that has been inconsistent this season.

Philadelphia’s 4.72 bullpen ERA ranks 22nd in the league. Colome would definitely be an improvement, having posted a 2.27 ERA this season. He has a track record of success dating back to his time with the Tampa Bay Rays, and was an All-Star in 2016.
The Phillies have been consistently searching for pitching upgrades ahead of the deadline. In addition to relievers like Colome, they’ve also been linked to one of the more prominent starting pitchers on the market, and they could use help there as well.
