Prince Fielder sent home from Rangers camp to get sleep problems evaluated
Prince Fielder has had such a hard time sleeping at Texas Rangers camp that the team has sent him back to Dallas for evaluation.
According to Matt Mosley of the Dallas Morning News, Fielder hasn’t been getting a full night’s sleep since his arrival in Surprise, Arizona and the team wanted to get it checked out now.
“It sounds like he’s having disjointed sleeping,” assistant general manager Thad Levine told reporters. “We figure at this time of year instead of asking him to gut it out why not actually have him evaluated.”
Fielder will be tested at an Arlington clinic. Manager Jeff Banister seemed largely unconcerned about the issue, and it appears to be a case of nipping something in the bud while the games ultimately don’t mean anything.
Unusual as this may be, this fails to win the contest for strangest physical issue suffered during spring training in 2016.
