A one-of-one Shohei Ohtani dual Gold Logoman autograph card from 2026 Topps Chrome has sold privately for $11 million, the third-highest price ever paid for a sports card.
The card features two gold MLB logo patches taken from uniforms Ohtani wore after his consecutive National League MVP seasons, along with his signatures in English and Japanese.
The card was pulled from a hobby box by a Florida collector at Boca Sports Cards in Boca Raton. The collector had purchased two jumbo cases of the product and hit the redemption while opening packs at home.
The discovery at a local shop surprised many in the hobby. Most collectors expected a card of this magnitude to surface in a high-volume break rather than a hobby box.
Matthew Allen, a principal with Secure Collectibles alongside Kevin O’Leary and Paul Warshaw, acquired the card after posting a $6.5 million public bounty. Negotiations settled at $11 million.
“The card just resonated deep with me, and I was like, you know what, I have to get this card,” Allen said, via ESPN.
The sale trails only the $12.9 million Michael Jordan-Kobe Bryant dual logoman and a $12.6 million 1952 Mickey Mantle. It also more than triples the previous record for an Ohtani card.
