Rays suspend Josh Sale, likely for stripper posting on Facebook
The Tampa Bay Rays have suspended prospect Josh Sale indefinitely a day after he boasted on his Facebook page about getting kicked out of a strip club for tossing change at a stripper.
Here’s what Sale wrote on his Facebook page on Monday, according to a screencapture from Deadspin:
The post was publicized by Deadspin on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reported that the Rays suspended Sale indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the organization. We’re going to go out on a limb and guess that the stripper posting played a role in that decision.
Sale, 21, was the No. 17 overall draft pick by the Rays in 2010. An outfielder from Seattle, Sale hit .264/.391/.464 in 74 games for Single-A Bowling Green last season. He was suspended 50 games without pay after testing positive for Methamphetamine and an Amphetamine last year.
Sale’s Facebook page is gone, but Big League Stew points out that his Instagram account lives on. Thankfully, it has given us amazing photos like the one at the top and this gem below:
