Rockies sign manager Bud Black to extension through 2022
Bud Black has been a success with the Colorado Rockies, and he’ll be sticking around a bit longer as a result.
The Rockies announced Monday that they have signed Black to a contract extension that runs through the 2022 season.

Black had been entering the final year of the three-year deal he originally signed when taking over the club, so Colorado acted quickly to ensure that he wouldn’t endure a lame duck year. Despite some forgettable moments, he has certainly earned the right to stick around. In his first two years at the helm in Colorado, he’s posted a pair of winning seasons and appearances in the NL Wild Card Game and the NLDS.
