Watch: Rockies, Padres wildly brawl after series of hit batters
We’re less than two weeks into the Major League Baseball season and we already have an all-out brawl.
A series of hit batters between the San Diego Padres and Colorado Rockies was the culprit. Things started Tuesday night, when San Diego’s Manuel Margot was hit unintentionally but landed on the disabled list with bruised ribs. As Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post outlines, things kept on escalating during Wednesday’s game until things boiled over.
#Padres Margo hit in ribs last night. Now on the DL.
Unintentional.
Trevor Story plunked in 1st today.
Hunter Renfroe hit in 2nd inning.
Nolan hit in 3rd to lead it off.#Rockies = brawl— Patrick Saunders (@psaundersdp) April 11, 2018
And here is the brawl, started after Padres pitcher Luis Perdomo threw behind Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado.

As you can see, this one was no joke. Punches were thrown, and a livid Arenado was still trying to go after Padres players after the main brawl had died down. This is one of the wilder baseball fights we’ve seen since this kerfuffle last May, and may even be more intense than that.
