Gardenhire, 59, managed the Twins for 13 seasons, going 1068-1039 (.507) with six playoff appearances, six division titles, and an AL Manager of the Year Award in 2010. He is currently an Arizona Diamondbacks bench coach.
The Red Sox seem desperate for a culture change with the dismissal of John Farrell after five seasons at the helm, so it remains to be seen if a seasoned and respected mind like Gardenhire is the direction they choose to go in.
