Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. made a cryptic change to his social media account after his team’s elimination from the MLB postseason.
Acuna changed his Instagram profile picture to a black circle that read “desconectado,” which is Spanish for “disconnected.” In addition, he scrubbed the profile of all Braves-related content.

The changes came one day after Acuna was booed by Braves fans during the team’s NLDS loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The star outfielder went just 2-for-15 in the series and hit .125 overall during the postseason. The poor showing prompted Acuna to admit that he understood why he was being booed at home.
"I know the talent I have. It’s frustrating to know you have that potential and not do anything with it." — "[The fans] are well within their rights to boo. I didn’t do anything." #Braves star Ronald Acuña Jr. was emotional, honest after NLDS loss to Dodgers. https://t.co/J5pzIDY4Ba

Injuries have been a recurring issue for Acuna. Though he was able to stay healthy in 2026, concerns about his durability have already impacted the chances of him getting a contract extension from Atlanta. His postseason struggles are unlikely to help his cause either.
Acuna hit .255 with 20 home runs in 107 games. Those are solid numbers, but not quite as elite as some of those he put up earlier in his career before being impacted by multiple knee injuries.
