Zack Greinke is returning to where it all began, and fans are pumped about it.
Greinke has signed a 1-year, $13 million deal with the Kansas City Royals. He’s returning to the team that drafted him in 2002 and for whom he played through 2010.

Greinke has bounced around and played for six different teams in his career, but his seven-year stretch with the Royals is the longest of his career. Last season he went 11-6 with a 4.16 ERA with the Houston Astros.
Greinke may not be what he was when he won the Cy Young in 2009, but he can still give the Royals plenty of reliable innings. He’ll also be a media darling despite his disinterest in talking with the press.
