Ryan Raburn makes comically bad throw to cost Indians a run (Video)
Ryan Raburn made a screwup of epic proportions on Thursday night when he misplayed a ball so badly against the Royals that it allowed Mike Moustakas to circle the bases and score the first run of the game.
Moustakas was batting in the bottom of the 8th inning with one out in a scoreless game when he blooped a ball down the left field line. Raburn made a sliding attempt to catch the ball on the line but he dropped it and it got away, allowing Moustakas to stroll into second. However, Raburn went “Sandlot” on us and somehow heaved the ball horizontally towards center field.
The inexplicable throw allowed Moustakas to score and give the Royals a 1-0 lead.
The only saving grace for Raburn is that the Indians scored in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game and send it to extras. But holy smokes, that was terrible! The Indians should think about converting him to a pitcher. He obviously has a mean slider.
