Much to the relief of the Kansas City Royals, Salvador Perez’s knee injury does not sound extremely serious, and he may only miss a brief amount of time.
Royals general manager Dayton Moore said Sunday that while it’s too early to tell for sure, Perez could be back in a week in the best case scenario if all goes right.

This will come as a huge relief to Kansas City. Perez’s injury initially looked very bad, but there was no apparent structural damage. Even if he doesn’t quite hit the best case scenario, it sounds like the odds are good that he’ll be back by Opening Day.
