Shohei Ohtani set to face live pitching next week
Shohei Ohtani’s return to the Los Angeles Angels’ lineup seems imminent.
Ohtani met with a doctor on Monday and things went well, because the two-way player has been cleared to face live pitching next week.
Shohei Ohtani saw the doctor today and, if all goes well, he will start facing live pitching in a week. They haven’t decided how he’ll do that (sim games or a rehab assignment). #Angels

Ohtani is recovering from Tommy John surgery, which will prevent him from pitching all season. However, he can still help the team as a DH and is working towards that.
Ohtani batted .285 with 21 doubles, 22 homers and a .925 OPS as a rookie last season.
