Washington Nationals rookie Spencer Kieboom set the record straight about the sensational tooth story involving him on Tuesday.
Kieboom hit his first career home run during a 3-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. The MASN telecast showed Spencer spitting something out before homering in the at-bat. After circling the bases, he was seen pointing to his mouth where a tooth was missing.
This is @KieBOOM22. That's his tooth flying out of his mouth.

The next thing you know people were saying that Kieboom had spit out his tooth before hitting the homer!
For those unable to watch our MASN broadcast, Spencer spit his tooth out while walking to the plate before his first MLB homer. I’m not joking. I cannot wait to ask him about this after the game. https://t.co/CZ60A5Mhoe

Alas, the fairy tale wasn’t quite true. Kieboom told Nationals reporters after the game that he lost his tooth — a veneer — on a baguette, earlier in the day. He says his spit was just spit.
So Spencer Kieboom lost his tooth to a baguette this morning. It was a veneer. He’s getting it fixed on the next off-day. But that thing he spat.. just spit.
“I know everybody wants it to be my tooth.” Alas.

It didn’t turn out to be quite as awesome as people wanted, but it was still cool nonetheless.
