Stephen Strasburg headed back to disabled list after one start

Stephen Strasburg

Stephen Strasburg was knocked around in his return from the disabled list last Friday, and the Washington Nationals star apparently did not emerge from the rough start feeling completely healthy.

The Nationals placed Strasburg back on the disabled list on Thursday, and Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reports that the right-hander is still having issues with his shoulder.

Strasburg’s start last week was his first since June 8, and he allowed six runs on eight hits over 4 2/3 innings. That was the most runs he has allowed in an outing all season, and he got into a heated argument with a teammate in the dugout when he was pulled from the game.

The Nationals are 50-51 and fading from playoff contention, and Strasburg’s rough season is a big reason why they have struggled. Depending on how serious his latest injury is, we may not see him again this season.
