Tanner Roark learned of trade to A’s in Arby’s parking lot
Tanner Roark knew there was a chance he’d be dealt before the 4 p.m. ET trade deadline on Wednesday, so he passed the time with some fast food.
Roark was dealt from the Cincinnati Reds to the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday, and he found out about it in an Arby’s parking lot ahead of a drive home to Atlanta.
Tanner Roark learned of his trade in an @arbys parking lot. He wanted a beef and cheddar (and curly fries). He was driving to Atlanta, where he lives in the off-season. @JonHeyman approves. He will not be driving to Oakland

There are certainly worse ways to find out about trades, and Roark, at the very least, was expecting it to happen. Hopefully he got to finish his lunch before he had to start packing his bags.
