The temperature in Cleveland for Game 2 of the World Series on Wednesday night at Progressive Field was cold, but nothing conveyed that better than a Terry Francona postgame quote.
“I tried to go to the bathroom in the 4th inning and couldn’t. That tells you enough,” Francona said after the game.
Ooph. Yeah, that’s pretty bad.
The weather for the game was listed as 43 degrees, with 11 mph of wind. Yet Cubs starter Jake Arrieta refused to wear long sleeves and threw 5.2 innings of one-run ball while picking up the win.
Meanwhile, Francona lost a World Series game he managed for the first time ever. Maybe it’s all because he couldn’t tinkle?
